Kirsten Dunst

Unless someone drove her and she spent the whole trip downing booze like a convict on death row. In which case, I only have one thing to say to that: Kirsten Dunst, will you marry me? Obviously not in a church. I know how holy water burns your vampire skin. See, baby, I notice the little things.

Subprime Borrowers: Not Innocents

The result is that America will be forced to save more and sell some of our assets (companies and real estate) to foreign debt holders (a.k.a. margin call). In other words, the growth in American standard of living is going to slow down for quite a few years.

QPR fans give thanks a billion times over

Bernie Ecclestone does not mince his words. "One thing’s for sure," he says. "If we owe anything, we pay it back."

Ecclestone, one of the wealthiest men in sport with an estimated fortune of £2.24 billion, was not referring to his family policy on monthly credit card repayments. The Formula One impresario was alluding to the debts he inherited when, along with Flavio Briatore, another of motor racing’s more colourful characters, he took over Queens Park Rangers.

Their arrival was greeted with rapture by long-suffering fans who in recent years have seen the club teeter from one calamity to another. The subsequent arrival of an even wealthier investor – Lakshmi Mittal, reputedly the world’s fifth-richest man – consolidated a new nickname for the club.

Romanov set to undertake Hearts surgery

True, but with a wage bill at £10m a season, is that not the very least you should expect? Given Rangers were absolute rank until Christmas, Hearts should have been in with a shout of 2nd again this year, too.

Remember, until such time as Romanov decides to pay off the debt, it's YOUR money he's spending. So long as you're happy with that, carry on.

What I find amazing is that a bit of idle speculation about possible signings has deflected Jambos entirely from the more important question - where will you be playing your football next season?

Sony to Introduce New Blu-Ray Players

It will be the first new player from Sony, the inventor of Blu-ray, since the format beat out the other technology that vied to become the high-definition replacement for the DVD.

Toshiba Corp. announced last week that it would stop making players for the HD DVD, the disc it invented, mainly because Warner Bros. Entertainment said it would drop the format to focus on Blu-ray discs.

The BDP-S350 player Sony plans to introduce this summer for "about $400" will be the company's first to feature an Ethernet port, allowing it to connect to a home broadband connection. However, it won't be able to access Internet content when it ships — a software upgrade will be available later to enable that feature, known as BD-Live.

A second player, the BDP-S550, will be available this fall for "about $500" and will be BD-Live-capable when it ships.

Harper to draw the line on Afghanistan

Increasingly, over the past few months, Harper is appearing more and more like a fool so it is fitting that he should play such a high stakes game on a policy that he can't win a majority on. Posted 05/02/08 at 11:11 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment .

Beware The $299 Scam

Figuring out the Medicare Part D plan is tough enough. But then the scam artists pick up the phone and stir up more trouble.

Seniors and people with disabilities must be on high alert for scammers who are calling and requiring a $299 upfront payment to sign up for a prescription drug plan.

The Michigan Office of Financial and Insurance Services warned consumers earlier this month to watch out for phony drug plans related to Medicare Part D.
